Sharker Nasrin Toontoon is based in Dhaka, Bangladesh, she has been working with performance art form more then 8 year, she is a Multidisciplinary artist working with Video, Sculpture and installation. She is one of advisory members in in_process. working since 2019 and supporting as an active member. Toontoon work has been exploring the voice of South Asian Women body, identity, freedom of Speech and expression, also very strong voice and comment on the socio-political, PostModern and Mordent Idea in third world countries connecting with her practice with local as well as the Global context with her personal approach and experience of History, time, and Place. Toontoon is currently working on her project with the Rijksakademie Dialogue and Exchange fellowship program. in Amsterdam, 2022. She Completed BFA & MFA from faculty of fine art, University of Dhaka in sculpture. She participated in many exhibitions, workshops, art camp, site-specific art projects and art residency. She participated in the national, young and Asian biennale exhibitions at Bangladesh Shilpakala academy from 2007 to 2018, took part on the exhibition of daily newspaper prothomalo’s 18th year’s anniversary at Bangladesh National museum and also the first performance week on daily arts- precinct by Bengal foundation. She took part in several art residency in Bangladesh, India (in Kipaf-kolkata international art festival, Anga northeast-a contemporary art collaboration in Guwahati , Assam, sowing seeds—Jaiselmer, Rajasthan), Nepal, Thailand, Indonesia, Sri-Lanka, China, Japan and South Korea. She got the grant from ACC-Rijskakademie Dialogue and Exchange fellowship program 2019-2020,Guwangju, South Korea & Amsterder, NL.
