Job Description

A great opportunity to work with the Marketing team in the Council, to gain office experience and an understanding of marketing within Sports, Theatres, Museums; whilst working towards a level 2 business administration apprenticeship.

You will have the opportunity to develop your Microsoft office experience in a work setting, through producing deadline schedules, doing overprinting, mail merges and bulk mailings, helping to manage the admin for promotions and competitions,producing information packs; as well as raising and delivering purchase orders and invoices.

2019 will be an exciting and significant year for the Council and Chelmsford more widely,with two multi-million projects reopening venues after extensive refurbishments and building works. The new Riverside Leisure Centre opens in Spring and Chelmsford Museum in the Summer.  By assisting with marketing efforts behind these, and other service areas such as the Theatres, you will be able to gain and develop skills that will be useful in pursuing future jobs in marketing.  This includes assisting the team with updates on our websites, social media accounts (incl. Facebook,Twitter and Instagram) and helping with e-newsletters.

The role is not purely office based. You will get to experience and engage with customers and businesses, by helping with outreach marketing and at events, launches &press nights; as well as co-ordinating and assisting with local distribution of publicity materials.

You will be required to work 37 hours per week.
