Assistant to the Studio Manger

Southwark Studios are looking for an assistant to the Studio Manger.
We are looking for a responsible and bright individual who is willing to learn about the responsibilities of running and maintaining a medium sized artists studio complex.
The role will be varied and challenging with increasing responsibilities. There will be full training from the current Studio Manager.
This role has the strong possibility of leading to a future paid position with Southwark Studios.

Overall responsibility
You will be trained by the current Studio Manager in all aspects of running a busy artists studio complex, including:
- How to be the first point of contact for enquires and studio members.
- Administration including invoicing.
- Maintaining a good relationship with studio members.
- Responding to enquiries by email.
- Organsing and performing viewings of available studios.
- Signing new up new artists as studio members.
- Resolving enquires from current studio members.
- Managing small budgets.
- Dealing with maintenance issues.
- Helping to organise communal events such as artist talks, open studios and markets.
Tasks will be challenging and varied. You must have great communication and time management skills. You will need to be efficient, friendly and willing to be part of a growing small business.
Term
3 month unpaid work experience placement as Assistant to the Studio Manager. There is a strong possibility of a paid future role with Southwark Studios. You will also have the opportunity to use studio space at Southwark Studios. You will need to commit to at least 15 hours a week.
Attributes
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Strong sense of customer service.
- Friendly and helpful attitude.
- Must be proficient with Apple Macintosh computers including Mail, Excel, Firefox, Pages, and Word applications.
- Prioritise workload effectively and resolve issues quickly.
- Relevant work experience and interest in the arts helpful.
- Living locally to Southwark Studios helpful but not necessary.
- Applicants must have a great work ethic and be interested in the growth of Southwark Studios.
